Building the Inner Skills
for Life, Work and Leadership
Coaching that helps young adults understand themselves , recognise their strengths and build the inner skills that support success at work and in life.

Learning to pause, reflect and understand yourself.
Through mindfulness and coaching, young adults begin to notice their thoughts, emotions, strengths, values and patterns of behaviour. They can relax more which helps focus and clarity. Developing a kinder and more resilient relationship with yourself. Self-compassion is not about lowering standards. It is about learning how to respond to setbacks, mistakes and uncertainty without becoming overwhelmed by self-criticism.
At elementas Coaching & Consulting, Young Adult Coaching combines career and life coaching and mentoring with mindfulness, compassionate self-leadership and practical tools for resilience.
This is not therapy, counselling or traditional careers advice. It is a personalised coaching experience that helps young adults understand themselves, recognise their strengths and develop the inner skills that support success in work and life.
“I believe adulthood isn’t something we simply arrive at. It’s something we learn with the right support and compassionate guidance. We don’t always have that person to guide us that we can turn to. I know I didn’t always and I realise I can use my personal learning to help young adults discover their strengths, build their Inner Compass and move forward with confidence, compassion and clarity.” Lou elementas founder
Young Adult Coaching is designed for people aged 18 to 25 who may be:
At the heart of this coaching is the elementas Inner Compass Framework, an evidence-informed approach that helps young adults develop the inner skills needed to flourish in work, relationships and life.
Building courage through action.
Coaching supports young adults to make decisions, have conversations, apply for opportunities, practise interviews and take realistic steps forward.
Strengthening communication, relationships and belonging.
This includes boundaries, teamwork, asking for help, developing empathy and learning how to relate confidently with others.
Exploring values, purpose and future possibilities.
Whether the next step is work, university, an apprenticeship, a gap year or something still emerging, coaching helps young adults make thoughtful choices that feel aligned with who they are.
Rather than focusing only on qualifications, applications or career choices, the Inner Compass Framework recognises that lasting confidence begins with self-awareness, emotional resilience and compassionate self-leadership.
Qualifications and technical knowledge are important, but they are only part of preparing for adulthood.
The ability to manage emotions, communicate well, make thoughtful decisions, respond to setbacks and believe in yourself are life skills that support wellbeing, relationships, learning and long-term career success.
Research increasingly shows that mindfulness, self-compassion and compassionate self-leadership can help young adults strengthen emotional resilience, confidence and psychological wellbeing during one of the most important transitions of their lives.
This approach is informed by research including Professor Kristin Neff’s work on self-compassion, Professor Karen Bluth’s research into mindful self-compassion for young people, and Tzortzaki’s work highlighting self-compassion as a foundation for future compassionate leadership.
At elementas, this evidence is combined with over 30 years’ experience in coaching, business, mentoring, education, museums, employer engagement and personal development.
Watching your son, daughter or young adult struggle with confidence, motivation or uncertainty can be difficult.
Many parents are unsure how much to encourage, when to step back and how best to support without taking over.
Coaching provides an independent, supportive space where young adults can think openly, explore their options and build the confidence to make their own decisions.
The aim is not to tell them what to do. It is to help them discover who they are, what matters to them and how they can move forward with confidence, compassion and purpose.
Helping young adults (18–25) develop confidence, resilience and direction for work, study and adult life.
Your coaching journey includes:
A personalised coaching programme designed to build the Inner Skills for Life and Work.
Additional sessions are available if further support is needed.
Young Adult Coaching can support:
Ideal for young adults who feel stuck or uncertain about what comes next. Together we’ll explore strengths, values, interests and realistic next steps.

A chance to zoom out and take stock looking at individual strengths and areas with practical ways to build confidence, resilience, independence and self-belief.
Mentoring and a sounding board in the early days of starting and navigating that new job new job, apprenticeship or placement.
